Give newborn and growing kittens the nutritional support they need with Beaphar Lactol Kitten Milk.

Lactol is a complete milk replacer for kittens from birth through weaning, specially formulated to closely resemble maternal milk. The advanced formula contains DHA, taurine, vitamins, minerals and highly digestible proteins to support normal growth and development.

It is particularly useful for orphaned or hand-reared kittens, as well as kittens that are unable to receive sufficient milk from their mother. It can also be used as a supplementary feed for young kittens and as nutritional support for pregnant, lactating, sick or recovering cats.

The product shown is the improved-pack Kitten Milk formula with DHA.

🥄 Directions for Use

Mixing Instructions

For the 250g/500g pack sizes:

Add 7 level scoops of Lactol powder to 100ml of warm water.

  1. Boil fresh water and allow it to cool.
  2. Add the required amount of powder to warm water.
  3. Mix thoroughly until completely dissolved.
  4. Allow the prepared milk to cool to approximately 38°C / blood temperature before feeding.
  5. Use clean and sterile feeding equipment.
  6. Prepared milk can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours and should be reheated to approximately 38°C before feeding young kittens.

Approximate Complete-Feed Guide

Kitten Weight Approx. Milk/Day Age Feeds/Day
100g 50ml 2–7 days 6–12
200g 80ml 8–21 days 8
400g 135ml 22–28 days 6–8
600g 180ml 29–35 days 4–6
1kg 250ml 36–42 days* 3*

The total daily volume should be divided between the recommended number of feeds. Individual requirements can vary, so monitor the kitten's weight and development.

*After around the 36th day, gradually introduce solid kitten food and reduce the quantity of milk as the kitten becomes accustomed to eating solids.

🥛 Supplementary Feeding

For kittens under 6 weeks old that are still receiving their mother's milk, Lactol can also be provided as a supplementary feed.

Recommended supplementary volume: up to 40ml/kg body weight.

For weaned/weaning kittens over 6 weeks and for adult cats during pregnancy/lactation or during illness/recovery, Beaphar gives a supplementary feeding recommendation of 13ml/kg.
